Andrea Kimi Antonelli is an Italian racing driver, born 25 August 2006, who competes in Formula One for the Mercedes team. He is considered one of the most talented young drivers of his generation and quickly rose through the junior motorsport ranks before reaching F1 as a teenager. Andrea Kimi Antonelli started kart racing at age 7 and won several international karting championships. In 2022, he dominated junior single-seaters, winning both the Italian F4 Championship and the ADAC Formula 4 Championship. In 2023, he won titles in Formula Regional Middle East and Formula Regional European Championship, showing exceptional pace. He was part of the Mercedes Junior Team, which fast-tracked him toward Formula One. Formula One Antonelli made his F1 debut in 2025 with Mercedes. He replaced Lewis Hamilton, partnering George Russell. At 18 years old, he became one of the youngest drivers in Formula One history. His rookie season included strong results and records such as being among the youngest drivers to lead a lap and set a fastest lap. At the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix at the age of 19 years, 6 months, 17 days, he became the all-time record as F1’s youngest pole setter in Formula One history and the second-youngest race winner in Formula One history.
